Dil Chahta Hain
To me this movie signifies the coming of the new Indian youth, who is part of what the new India is, very cosmo, very mobile, but still very fallible and a simple human. It helped bring in this new look of youth, which we the audience would have never expected on the screen. After this movie, it became so easy for actors like Saif, Rahul Bose etc. to do alternate movies and yet be fine and acceptable. Some movies bring about a generational shift and this is one of those. Others that I remarkably respect for the generational shift are Sholay, Qayamat se Qayamat tak, Dilwale dulhaniya le jayenge, Dil Chahta hain, Bunty aur Babli.
